OF MEN AND ANGELS -- 2.23.10, 2.23.10, 2.23.10 -- out today!!!

Today is the day when The Rocket Summer's 4th studio album is released. You can go buy it at any store, or at itunes. Go buy it. :) It's beautiful, energetic and real.
Yesterday, February 22, the day before... Bryce was in New York City preparing for the album release. At 3pm there was a 'live web chat' on therocketsummer.com where he answered questions into a mac webcam, and the pretty awesome HILLS AND VALLEYS music video was premiered! Then at 6pm there was more questioning and answering, as well as an acoustic performance where fans could watch in and interact. It was like a little party. :) Somewhere in there, #therocketsummer became a trending topic on twitter... I guess these days that's a big deal. So YAY. It's obvious that today is a triumph among all the things that try to hold ya down... but it's also just a straight-up happy occasion, that people are able to feel this much joy and sing about it. Have a great day all.

Happy New Year! Last night was the annual To Write Love on Her Arms 'Heavy and Light' show at the House of Blues in Orlando... Bryce played a really beautiful solo set of "Do You Feel," "Maps," "Walls," "Skies So Blue," and "Good News is Coming." Lots of Rocket Summer fans flew or drove down (or up) to the show... but for all the rest of us, it was streaming live online, and now the entire concert is up on a website called Sync Live. Go to that link, click 'TWLOHA' at the bottom right, and The Rocket Summer starts at 42 minutes!! "Walls" is one of the most beautiful things my heart has heard!!

Stephanie from addicted2shows.com did an interview with Bryce on 12/5 at the last show of the tour in Anaheim, CA. It's video recorded, and it's a good one... thanks Stephanie! Click here to watch the interview. Also, to get the word out about the interview, the website is holding a contest where you can win a signed Rocket Summer poster. Here's info on how you can enter. Also... The Rocket Summer's newest music video... YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!!:

The Rocket Summer is back!!! This band truly is a light in any place and the tour that's going on now is so fun and just the beginning! Every single time he tours, Bryce comes up with new ideas to visually and musically express the message of grace, triumph, tribulation, and joy that the music is all about... this tour is no exception. 2010 is going to be a good year, and right now TRS is kickin' it off early.

There are two new members of The Rocket Summer... Nick Aranda on bass and Justin Leu on drums. They are AWESOME... they love the music a lot and are already contributing so much love and effort into the band. I'm so happy they're here. Tommy and Matt are missed terribly, but, they are doing well.

Alsooo... I'm currently working at getting every single "kink" out of this website and adding some new, good content. I hope you notice? :)

There's a video update... and a wonderful cover of "God Only Knows"! Wow, the sun shining strong in western USA by the highway and large roadside attractions is really, really picturesque. Bryce, I hope the album recording is going amazing. I can't wait at all to hear the new songs that you love so much already. :)

Happy New Year's Eve. (Happy birthday, B.) What's new... I made a second Rocket Summer documentary... all the footage is from 2007 and 2008, the 'Do You Feel' days. I think it turned out cool, I hope you like it. It's right here, on youtube. Also, in Alternative Press' February 2009 issue, there is a really wonderful article written by Bryce about his charity, Call It Captivate. It's right in the beginning, on page 22.

The Rocket Summer is on the cover of Alternative Press Magazine, Issue #237.3 (April 2008). Go Get It!!

February 25, 2008.
So, this is a special day... 2.25.08 marks the five year anniversary of Calendar Days being released by The Militia Group! I'm thinkin back to the old biographies and the old photos and advertisements and quotes from '03... those were sweet times. Because of this album, I'll always love pink & brown together. (Among other things.)

"Like beautiful musical sunshine in a can!"

The headlining tour in the UK was very successful!! Every show was sold out and the British fans were so genuine and enthusiastic. Some of the shows were so absolutely crazy... like Birmingham... oh man... that will go down in the books. Bryce thinks The Rocket Summer will be visiting the UK again very soon!

The Rocket Summer will be co-headlining the Alternative Press tour this spring; all tour dates have been updated. Bryce, Angie, and Reecie made a cute and funny welcoming-in video that can be viewed here. Also, there is a really really cool interview/acoustic session up at AltPress.com. Click on the giant TRS graphic on the main page to listen!

To Write Love on Her Arms will be joining The Rocket Summer on the road in the United Kingdom. TWLOHA is a Florida based non-profit organization whose mission is to present hope and healing to young people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. Bryce has supported the organization for a long time and is now helping it grow internationally. Jamie, the founder, will speak before The Rocket Summer's set each evening. Supporting this tour is The Secret Handshake and Between The Trees. 1 week!!

Happy holidays, everyone.
In one month, The Rocket Summer will be in the United Kingdom to play 12 special headlining shows in 11 cities! The last time Bryce played in the UK was February, 2004 with The Ataris... I'm sure there will be a lot of happy people to see him finally back! Bryce has announced that he and the band have been practicing new songs, such as "High Life Scenery," "Colors," and "Hold It Up," and also old jams. This is gonna be good.

*new*  If you've ever wondered how many times The Rocket Summer has played in a certain venue, a certain city, a certain state, or a certain area of the world... then I have for you: The Rocket Summer's tour history, sorted by location. The link is also posted in the 'Tour History' section.  :)

I just got back from seeing The Rocket Summer a bunch of times on the Sleeping With Giants tour... wow! Even when given only a half hour set, Bryce, Seth, Matt, and Tommy do such an incredible job at creating energy and making every moment super great. Each song is amazing... especially "So Much Love," where Mikey from Sherwood and Ryan come out and play the trumpet while the confetti falls and that beautiful chorus is being repeated, and "So, In This Hour..." (that song is a masterpiece.) I love this band. Seriously.

Alternative Press Magazine did an interview with Bryce and then wrote a 2-page article... it is on shelves now. You can find it in Borders and Barnes & Noble. The issue is December 2007 (#233, with Say Anything on the cover), and it begins on page 126. Bryce talks about some difficult times he has been through... but reminds fans that light prevails over darkness, and there is HOPE! Pick it up.

October 19, 2007.

Some things can always be counted on... like confetti.
Here's a picture Ashley took at the Warped Tour in New Jersey August 5, 2007... right next to a picture I took in Boston on October 25, 2003. In each one there's a single piece of purple confetti fluttering down! How neat is that?  :)

July 30, 2007.
Hello!  Welcome to TRSconfetti, and what I'm going to call "version 2: Feels Like Gold."  I hope you like it.  It was totally beyond time for a new layout, so I've worked with what I have and hopefully created something just as bright!  One of the biggest challenges of creating a new layout is being confident that the layout looks decent on all computers, in all browsers... so please, if this site looks awful to you, whether it's the allignment of the frames, the colors, if a link doesn't don't work, or anything, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know.  Thanks.

Old updates can be found here, and the old layout will be viewable forever in the about section.

who's going to see The Rocket Summer on the Warped Tour?!
