THE MILITIA GROUP / FAMILY AFFAIR TOUR, SPRING 2005
with Brandtson, Cartel, Umbrellas

           "Hello, good friend" was scheduled to be released May 17, 2005 - so The Rocket Summer went out on the road right before that, to start getting all the fans ready for it! The tour was called "Family Affair" and sponsored Militia Group bands Brandtson, Cartel, and Umbrellas. Bryce played an even mix of songs from Calendar Days and "Hello, good friend", although because of an early album leak, fans shouted mostly for the new songs. At the beginning of this tour, the last boxfull of old EPs from 2000 were sold at the merch table... surprise!
             Seth remained in the band as the full-time guitarist (and tamborine shaker). Jed Barnett, the new bassist, and Jared Byers, the new drummer, began playing at this time. Also, Bryce's wife Tara joined the group on the road, selling a whole bunch of new merchandise and tour managing. It was a new crew.
