summer headlining tour 2004
with Plain White T's, Kevin Devine, Number One Fan

             In June 2004, The Rocket Summer prepared for an extensive summer-long headlining tour all around the United States and into Canada. The band played with Plain White T's, Kevin Devine, and Number One Fan (on the west coast only). For this tour, Bryce and Rob worked out a drum routine where they both played drums at the same time while in the process of switching seats... that was cool.
             Each night, Bryce covered The Cure's "Mint Car" with an acoustic guitar. He always introduced it with, "this is one of my favorite songs..." A video of "Mint Car" from the Continental in New York City can be viewed here.
             This was Rob, Brett, and Brad's last tour with The Rocket Summer. It was also the last Rocket Summer tour for nine months, because Bryce was getting ready to finish writing, get married, and record his next album. Plain White T's and Kevin Devine went on to do some awesome things in the months and years following, so this summer tour together was a great moment in time.
